Fiona and I took the Mercedes for a big run over to the West Coast. We managed to find 11 geocaches on our trip and, as always, our GPS lead us to some pretty interesting places. The walk up to the Franz-Josef Glacier on a warm, sunny morning was amazing.
Deep in the bush hunting for A Walk in the Black Forest.
The view out over Lake Mapourika from the MacDonald's Creek cache.
The stunning Lake Ianthe. This is at the Ianthe View cache.
The beautiful view from The Dead Centre of Town cache in Ross.
Looking out over Hokitika from the Hokitika Tourist Information and Travel Bug Hotel cache.
The Merc waits quietly while we uncover the King Dick cache in Kumara.
An interesting old swimming complex near Kumara - just down the road from the legendary Titanic Erratic cache.
The Merc waits under some trees out of the rain as we go and tackle the Craigieburn Challenge cache.
At the Roadside Paradise cache. Just 15m from the road, without the GPS we would never have known to stop and find it!
